Edina, Minn. – Thursday, March 3 – Emanuelson-Podas (EP) recently announced that Brady Brodsho, a former EIT (Engineer in Training) and member of EP’s electrical engineering department, has obtained his professional engineer (PE) licensure. Brodsho joined EP in early 2016 and has been actively designing electrical systems for clients in the industrial, municipal and light commercial industry sectors.
Brodsho said, “I take the responsibilities of a professional engineer very seriously and couldn’t be more pleased to have obtained my licensure. I look forward to advancing my skills as an engineer, and to continuing to provide our clients with the right electrical systems for their needs.”
To become licensed, engineers must complete a four-year college degree, pass two intensive competency exams and work under a professional engineer for at least four years. At EP, Brodsho worked closely with Electrical Engineer and Managing Partner Matt Fults, PE.
“Brady’s electrical design background is impressive, as is his dedication to his work,” said Fults. “He is committed to providing our clients with appropriate, right-sized electrical systems, and to proactively offering ideas and solutions to improve each project. He has a deep commitment to our company values, and has the skills, approach and dedication to continuous improvement needed to be an excellent engineer.”
Both Brodsho and Fults noted the importance of having a collaborative, high-performing group of electrical designers and engineers as colleagues. Said Brodsho, “It’s a pleasure to work alongside a group of motivated, committed engineers and designers – on both the electrical side and mechanical side. The team here at EP shares knowledge and supports each other day in and day out to serve our clients and meet their engineering needs.”
Brodsho is a 2009 graduate of North Dakota State University with a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering. He began his career with Border States Electric in Fargo, and then worked with engineering firm Michaud Cooley Erickson prior to joining Emanuelson-Podas.
In addition to obtaining his professional engineer licensure, Brodsho is currently working towards becoming a Certified Electrical Safety Compliance Professional (CESP), obtaining lighting certification (LC) from the National Council on Qualification for the Lighting Professions (NCQLP), and becoming certified by the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP). He hopes to pursue LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification as well.
To retain the PE license, engineers must continually maintain and improve their skills throughout their career, obtaining ongoing credits and professional development.
