Mark Champion, PE, is a partner, mechanical engineer and portfolio manager, and has been with EP for 10 years. He’s led engineering efforts for clients across multiple industry segments, with a particular expertise in the financial services and education sectors. As portfolio manager, Mark is responsible for managing a large and diverse portfolio of client projects, overseeing budgets, timelines, and resource allocation to ensure project delivery on time and within budget. He’s been instrumental in implementing cutting-edge project management methodologies, including human resource allocation strategies. Mark has also championed a culture of continuous learning, helping to develop the firm’s coaching and project management structure.
Being the youngest of the family, Mark has always had to work his way to the top. Whether it was through sports, or in his coursework at the University of Minnesota, Mark focuses on the tasks at hand to find solutions and bring his team to the end goal. He continues to educate himself in the field, ensuring that he can lead by example and be a mentor to new engineers.
Outside of work, Mark enjoys going to the gym with his wife or spending time in the kitchen trying to create new recipes. They spend most of their time playing with their two dogs, Lola and River. When they’re not tangled in leashes, they enjoy reading, finding new restaurants, or going to their nephew’s hockey games and niece’s dance recitals. While Minnesota is home for them, their favorite place to travel is Anna Maria Island, Florida with Mark’s entire family.
Mark is a graduate of the University of Minnesota (Twin Cities) with a Bachelor of Science Degree in mechanical engineering.
