Champion, Eastman, Ellingboe, and Rose Named EP Firm Partners

Edina, Minn. – Wednesday, February 7 – Emanuelson-Podas (EP) recently announced the addition of four new partners to the firm’s senior leadership team. Mark Champion, Chris Eastman, Tom Ellingboe, and Eric Rose were all named partners of the firm. They join the firm’s existing six partners, the group that sets the strategic direction for the firm and guides its day-to-day operation.

Managing Partner Matt Fults, PE, said, “We’re beyond excited about the addition of these four individuals to our partnership group. They have each served EP faithfully and have been instrumental in helping guide the firm as we’ve evolved and grown. They represent the best of our next generation of company leadership.”

Mark Champion, PE, is a Mechanical Engineer and Portfolio Manager, and has been with EP for 10 years. He’s led engineering efforts for clients across multiple industry segments, with a particular expertise in the financial services and education sectors. As Portfolio Manager, Mark is responsible for managing a large and diverse portfolio of client projects, overseeing budgets, timelines, and resource allocation to ensure project delivery is on time and within budget. He’s been instrumental in implementing cutting-edge project management methodologies, including human resource allocation strategies. Mark has also championed a culture of continuous learning, helping to develop the firm’s coaching and project management structure. Mark is a graduate of the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Chris Eastman, PE, is a Mechanical Engineer and has been with the firm for six years. With a background in energy management and controls, Chris came to EP and quickly made an impact leading sophisticated mechanical engineering projects in sectors ranging from multifamily housing to fitness. He now leads the mechanical and plumbing design efforts for a large national fitness services provider, where he created and maintains an innovative design standards program. Additionally, Chris has spearheaded efforts to improve construction document quality by working closely with EP’s BIM team, advancing clash detection initiatives. Chris is a graduate of the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Tom Ellingboe has been in the AEC industry for 18 years, with all but two of those years spent at EP. He’s an Electrical Designer and LEED Green Associate. Tom’s experience with complicated electrical systems is extensive, with a particular strength in lighting and power distribution design. For the majority of his career, Tom has led the electrical design efforts for clients in the fitness sector, with projects located across the country. He also has extensive experience in the logistics sector, partnering with clients to help drive innovative electrical system design and sustainability initiatives. He is a sought-after client manager who is renowned for his ability to operate at both the strategic and tactical levels. Tom is a graduate of Dunwoody College of Technology with a degree in Electrical Construction Design and Management.

Eric Rose joined EP as Director of Strategic Development in 2021, bringing with him AEC and CRE industry experience that spans more than 15 years. He spent a significant part of his early career in construction management and preconstruction. This background provides him with a unique toolset to drive successful engineering design projects and gives him a comprehensive understanding of the interconnectedness of project schedule, budget, and quality. At EP, Eric drove the development of and now leads the new Building Performance Group, bringing together the firm’s extensive experience in energy modeling, building commissioning, and building controls. He also drives complex client projects in the med-tech and logistics sectors and has led the firm’s significant entry into the EV charging station segment. Eric is a graduate of the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering.
